i woke up at 4 am to get ready as our flight was at 6.40.
3 and a half hours flight. i was super restless.
there was a really cute baby sitting in front of us. BUT, i smelled poop for the entire flight! his momma only changed his diapers when we were reaching hk. boo.
we decided to take a bus to our hotel - cityview at yaumatei/mongkok area so we took A21.
WE GOT LOST!
probably alighted too early or something like that so poor bf had to carry our luggage around and navigate.
i overpacked! hehe. oops.
since it was both our first time there, we were a bit confused!
since the streets aren't named like ours. the hotel details said nathan road and prince edward road.
boy we were surprised to discover that nathan road stretched on and on -_- yaumatei mtr, jordan mtr etc. all nathan road!
we eventually found our way after an hour.
their hotel rooms are so small!
i guess our room was considered quite big already haha. not too bad! comfy (:
we were so starved, so we went for lunch!
just a cafe across the street.
it looked pretty good, since many people were there having porridge.
we wanted to order too! but their menu was all in chinese and their service is super fast.
before we could decide the waitress was already breathing down our necks.
in the end i had no idea what happened but i ended up with mushroom and minced pork noodles and bf ended up with fishball noodles.
lol.
after that we went to explore nearby places!
didn't want to go too far on the first day.
we went to those "theme streets"
ladies market was like bugis street! but since hk is having winter now, almost the end of winter soon i think, so most of their clothes aren't suitable for singapore!
but i bought many pairs of stockings, very nice! and cheap too. $4!
goldfish market had so many different kinds of fish it was amazing to look at.
i'm actually quite scared of fish but they had such a huge variety!
some shops even sold HORRIBLE iguanas, super big and ugly i can't imagine having one as a pet. and there was this shop selling huge beetles with horns. bleah.
we also walked to fa yuen street, their sportswear street area and temple street night market, which sold similar stuff as ladies market.
really a girl's paradise! if only i were rich! bf declared that place hell. haha!
and he complained that his legs were very tired.
went into a random cafe for dinner and as usual, we didn't know what we ordered but it was very nice!
udon noodles in very yummy and spicy soup.
he asked me to try curry fishballs too as he said it's quite special and can't be found over here.
i ate it while drinking milk tea. big mistake! it made my stomach churn.
i have now developed an aversion to milk tea. but i love the curry fishballs!
makes my tongue numb. very high. hehe.
we walked and walked until 10 plus 11? so tired. and we did that everyday!
and oh. my skin was fine when we went there but the air there is so polluted i have rashes on my face now =(
super packed hk streets on a thursday afternoon. why ah? no work?
our fave stall for sausage/curry fishball and smelly tofu in his case
continue this another day! time for chocolatier! very fun and looks yummy!
